The Tea Bungalow has been beautifully restored and retains its colonial-era charm
The building itself is over 100 years old, having been built in 1912. It was originally a workshop and office for a British company called United Carpets, which was involved in the manufacture and export of coir and spices. In 1956, the Brooke Bond tea company bought the bungalow and renamed it the Brooke Bond Bungalow. It housed the company’s top management and even dignitaries used the bungalow for important meetings.
